Frequently Asked Siding Questions
-
Absolutely. We are operated by NorCal’s Finest Construction, and we are fully
licensed, bonded, and insured. In California, siding requires a professional who understands
structural integrity. We carry full Workers' Comp and General Liability to ensure you are never at
risk while we are on your property.
-
For our climate, we highly recommend James Hardie Fiber Cement. Unlike vinyl,
which can warp or melt in 100°F+ Sacramento summers, or wood, which cracks under the
intense UV rays, fiber cement is "Engineered for Climate." It is non-combustible,
termite-resistant, and won't expand and contract like other materials.
-
We strictly adhere to the California CSLB legal limit for standard deposits. To get your project on our schedule, we only collect 10% or $1,000, whichever is less.
However, for projects involving special order items or high-value custom materials, a separate payment arrangement may be required to cover those specific material costs upfront. We believe in earning your trust through our work, while ensuring your custom materials are secured without delay.
-
Yes, and this is a critical step many "budget" contractors skip. Every time an old nail is pulled, it leaves a hole in your moisture barrier. We recommend and perform Tyvek replacement during siding installation to ensure your home has a fresh, airtight seal against Sacramento’s winter atmospheric rivers.
-
Because we specialize in local homes (from Land Park to Citrus Heights), we know dry rot is a common "hidden" issue. We perform a full tear-off to inspect the sheathing. If we find rot, we don’t just cover it up—we provide a transparent repair plan to replace the damaged wood so your new siding has a solid, healthy foundation.
-
Yes. Given the wildfire risks in Northern California, we prioritize Class A Fire-Rated materials. James Hardie siding will not ignite when exposed to a direct flame and won’t contribute fuel to a fire, which can also help with your home insurance requirements.
-
We do not handle Homeowners Association (HOA) approvals. Since HOAs strictly require the property owner to submit applications, this step must be handled by you. We are happy to provide you with product specifications, color samples, and brochures to make your application process as smooth as possible.
-
Precision installation. Sacramento’s temperature swings (from 30°F to 110°F) cause inferior siding to fail. We use specific "blind-nailing" techniques and leave the exact manufacturer-required gaps at joints, finished with high-grade OSI Quad sealant to ensure a lifetime of beauty without buckling.
-
We take pride in our craftsmanship, which is why your project is handled by NorCal’s Finest Construction experts. We don't just "sub out" your home to the lowest bidder. You’ll have a clear point of contact and a team that treats your home like their own.
-
You get the best of both worlds. First, you receive the industry-leading 30-year non-prorated material warranty from James Hardie.
Second, you get our specific craftsmanship warranty, which ranges from 4 to 10 years, depending on whether your project requires underlying structural work. If there is ever an issue with our installation, we are a local Citrus Heights business—we’ll be there to fix it.
